Director, Corporate FP&A

Our company is looking for a Director, Corporate FP&A to join our team. Reporting to the CFO, this position will be an integral part of the leadership team. This position involves close interaction with numerous cross-functional disciplines, including engineering, and multiple manufacturing environments.  Applicant must be comfortable working in a team environment that is fast paced and dynamic.  A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement is required.

Engineering Test Technician

ESS is looking for a motivated, hard-working Test Technician to join our team. This person is responsible for maintaining test equipment (cleaning, building/fixing, calibrating), modifying test equipment under engineering supervision, making chemical solutions, providing high quality record keeping, and working with engineers as required.

Production Test Technician

ESS is looking for a motivated, hard-working Production Test Technician to join our team. This person will be primarily responsible for test equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as well as electromechanical/chemical testing of sub-assemblies for large battery systems. This person may be asked to perform other duties, including assembly and production of sub-assemblies, as determined by the dynamic needs of a start-up environment. The ideal candidate is someone who adaptable and fully understands the culture, the rigor, and the challenges of a start-up environment.

Mechanical Inspector

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Inspector to support the Quality department. The Inspector will perform a variety of routine limited short sheet inspections in the incoming\production process using learned methods, including visual, dimensional, mechanical, test and functional. Includes production support; data collection; and workplace organization and safety. Position will perform infrequent non-routine inspection interfacing with Quality Engineering and Design Engineering to understand inspection method and implication on overall design.  

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

We are currently looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing and assembly of state-of-the-art long duration energy storage (LDES) components and systems. In this position you will be responsible for establishing manufacturing processes as well as leading continuous improvement and process yield efforts. You will work with a cross functional team to develop, validate, and improve products and processes to make them robust and viable for full scale manufacturability.

Technical Writer

ESS is seeking a dynamic Technical Writer. Candidates with knowledge of large and complex industrial products, containerized manufacturing & transport are highly desired. Experience in battery, fuel cell technologies or power generation systems are helpful. The Technical Writer will plan, design, write, edit, and produce major manual works and other smaller jobs. Works as a project team member, working with other technical writers, editors and illustrators as required. Responsible for exercising independent judgment to successfully execute a complete product documentation introduction on schedule and within budget.

Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting Manager to help drive the constant enhancement of our finance function, processes, systems, and value creation to support and enable continued exemplary financial performance and operations at ESS.

As the Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for leading the adoption and application of accounting standards and establishing accounting policies. You will play the critical role of ensuring integrity and accuracy of our financial statements including public filings and compliance with US GAAP.

You will have oversight and participation in various planning, drafting and other activities that facilitate the efficient completion of those filings, of significant or unusual and none-recurring transactions, or recently issued accounting updates as well as pronouncements.

This role will report to the VP Accounting|Controller and partner closely with the accounting team and interact regularly with external auditors, Legal, third-party consultants and other cross-functional groups.

Systems Integration Technician

ESS is looking for a motivated, hard-working System Integration Technicians to join our team. This person is responsible for constructing and integrating plumbing, electrical, and sub- assemblies of large battery systems. The ideal candidate is someone who adaptable and understands the culture, the rigor, and the challenges of a start-up environment.

Software Engineer

The Software Engineer will work closely with our development team to create software that will run the flow battery systems. The main focus of the programmer will be the analysis and modeling of energy systems to help the flow battery systems run at optimal performance for the location and application that they are deployed.

R&D Engineer

ESS is looking for a motivated and versatile R&D Engineer to join our team. Our current program scope involves the design, development and evaluation of a new generation power module, and electrolyte management system, to characterize and improve electrolyte chemistry.

Project Manager

ESS is looking for a motivated, hard-working Project Manager to join our team. The person is responsible for developing project management and delivery plans, organize, monitor and coordinate the activities of cross-functional teams, contractors, and other parties as required to successfully support and deliver ESS projects to Customers. This position works with different business teams and outside parties, shepherding multiple projects from quoting to shipping or concept to realization. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and successfully achieve performance and delivery requirements. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible to Executive Management for ensuring that all cost, schedule, performance and delivery requirements of assigned projects are satisfied, while also ensuring that a positive, cooperative and professional business relationship is maintained within the customer.

ESS is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, Thermodynamics, fluid flow and structural analysis. The role will focus on the packaging of ESS’ advanced battery technology to ensure product life, cost and efficiency. The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills and an ability to manage multiple projects effortlessly. Candidates with knowledge of large and complex industrial products, containerized manufacturing & transport are highly desired. Experience in battery, fuel cell technologies or power generation systems are helpful.

Manufacturing Assembler

ESS is looking for a motivated, hard-working Entry Level Manufacturing Assembler to join our team. This person is responsible for constructing repeatable battery assemblies and components. This person may be asked to perform other duties determined by the dynamic needs of a start-up environment.

Integration – Electrical Controls Technician

ESS is looking for a motivated, hard-working Electrical Controls Technician to join our team. The Electrical Controls Technician job duties include:

Assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
When the work has been completed – must inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

Field Service Engineer

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) performs customer installs, repairs, and preventative maintenance of ESS’ turnkey system – Energy Warehouse. The FSE positively interacts with customers to solve technical problems and identify areas of improvement. The FSE also looks for opportunities to increase revenue by providing more services to the customer. This job is based in greater Portland area but will involve travel to customer sites.

Engineering Electrical Technician

Energy Center – Product Manager

The Energy Center (EC) Product Manager will be responsible for defining and owning the execution of product strategy. This person will work closely with the entire senior leadership team (SLT) to integrate all near and long term technical and product development initiatives into a cohesive product strategy and go-to-market plan for sustainable growth. This position will take the voice of the market/customer and covert into MRD/PRD to drive alignment with internal stakeholders. The position will focus on transitioning the company from being an organization that develops technology into one that executes on delivering compelling product solutions for well-defined market segments in order to achieve revenue growth and margin objectives for the Company.
