This person is responsible for maintaining test equipment (cleaning, building/fixing, calibrating), modifying test equipment under engineering supervision, making chemical solutions, providing high quality record keeping, and working with engineers as required.

This person will be primarily responsible for test equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as well as electromechanical/chemical testing of sub-assemblies for large battery systems. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Inspector to support the Quality department. The Inspector will perform a variety of routine limited short sheet inspections in the incoming\production process using learned methods, including visual, dimensional, mechanical, test and functional. Includes production support; data collection; and workplace organization and safety. Position will perform infrequent non-routine inspection interfacing with Quality Engineering and Design Engineering to understand inspection method and implication on overall design.
We are currently looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing and assembly of state-of-the-art long duration energy storage (LDES) components and systems. In this position you will be responsible for establishing manufacturing processes as well as leading continuous improvement and process yield efforts. You will work with a cross functional team to develop, validate, and improve products and processes to make them robust and viable for full scale manufacturability.
As the Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for leading the adoption and application of accounting standards and establishing accounting policies. You will play the critical role of ensuring integrity and accuracy of our financial statements including public filings and compliance with US GAAP.
You will have oversight and participation in various planning, drafting and other activities that facilitate the efficient completion of those filings, of significant or unusual and none-recurring transactions, or recently issued accounting updates as well as pronouncements.
This role will report to the VP Accounting|Controller and partner closely with the accounting team and interact regularly with external auditors, Legal, third-party consultants and other cross-functional groups.
Assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
When the work has been completed – must inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) performs customer installs, repairs, and preventative maintenance of ESS’ turnkey system – Energy Warehouse. The FSE positively interacts with customers to solve technical problems and identify areas of improvement. The FSE also looks for opportunities to increase revenue by providing more services to the customer. This job is based in greater Portland area but will involve travel to customer sites.
ESS is looking for a motivated and hard-working Battery Stack Test Engineer to join our team. This person is responsible for testing and validating the performance of our battery stacks.
ESS is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Designer/Drafter with a strong background in 3D CAD systems, mechanical design, thermodynamics, fluid flow, and structural analysis. The role will focus on supporting the development of ESS’s advanced battery technology to ensure product life, cost, and efficiency. Candidates with knowledge of large and complex industrial products, containerized manufacturing & transport are highly desired. Experience in battery, fuel cell technologies or power generation systems are helpful. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and the environment, will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting, be self-motivated and have an interest in disruptive, cutting edge technology.
